Internet and Googling

When I, first time, get attached to the Internet I used to explore what is going on this huge world. I used to hear about Google and this is the page where I can get all the information I know about from here, especially it is a very nice page and I can type any word I wan to get the whole background about from online WIKIs and dictionaries.
I get to believe that there isn’t any other place to get my information for except the Google and it is as I after that know a search engine… I began to search in Google about the “Search engines” and I get a lot of strange and interesting information. I though at first I will get many names for search engines like Yahoo, Hotmail, or MSN… However, I recognized that there is huge and broad meaning for the search engine and there is big number for them. Every website you see a search word and beside it like a space to write in it for search for any word it is considered a search engine. When I search for this two words on the Google I get about 215 thousand results that speak about the search engines and what we should do to work greatly on it…
Also, I found that are multilingual search engines as you don’t have to switch you language to search in Arabic topics or in French as you have your engines that serve your home language…
I get very interesting input when I used to search on Google on the behalf of the different language searching. I was turning my keyboard on Arabic and the word I search for was in English… I entered Google and I began writing “Online Communication in the Arab World”, but translated with Arabic letters on the English keyboard. For my amazement, I found that the Arabic unorganized letter changed to the English meaning I meant to write and also got the results I want from Google…

Facebook and Hacking…

I am one of the girls like all my colleagues and relatives who have a Facebook account. I enjoyed entering everyday checking my profile and filtering my Inbox messages.
As soon as I received good applications request from my friends, I tend to register in and take the quiz or the message they wan to get me… However, here is the first step in allowing my anyone that I don’t know that I am one he Facebook and I have a lot of information on myself ready for the person I don’t know or the company I can’t imagine to buy my personal information to take mine.
That was the first thing that I paid my attention to when I entered Facebook and applied for these applications. Then I began to look for my privacy is it going in the right track or just I am navigating on Facebook without know where Am I and where do my personal belongings going for. First, I clicked on the setting button up on my Facebook page and pressed on privacy to see what I should do to prevent anyone take mine and change whatever he want. For my amazement, I found that everything you put in your profile you can’t get it back… It’s the pack and you have to take it all… you want the Facebook and in the same time you will take your special things off… I saw many buttons and options in the privacy page telling me if you want your colleagues only to see it, or you want your Network (AUCEGYPT) to see it, or even you can limit your information only on the persons you wan to see from your friends and here is the chosen persons you want… Nothing I could do, I used to be on Facebook daily, or in other word I got addicted to see what my offline friends do in their life while I wasn’t with them. So, I began to take all my attention to specify the friends I want only to see my profile and personal belongings, but I finally got bored, I want my friends to see mine as I see them, I will leave everything as it is…
The part now you are waiting to know, what happened to me on my Facebook profile and what made me in future close it…
I received a Facebook team message telling me that they have felt a suspicious on my profile and may be someone entered to take anything or change your password, so we blocked your password and want from you long procedures to do after logging again. I asked myself am I enjoying my time or make myself hacked without my knowledge. The best thing is to follow these procedures and be safe… I did all they want me to do, I scanned my computer and then I entered again with a strong and trusted password make me not to be hacked again, but for your amazement this time I got the Facebook mail again and I tend this time to close my Facebook account…
It is time to take care for our privacy and have more careful minds and opened eyes if we gonna set in from of this huge screen opened to the great world.

Virtual Reality... Web 3.0

Everything created in our day to day life is resulted form a human special needs. When the primary human being felt hungry and he is in a bad need to eat anything, he thought materials and pins to bit the rabbit and shot the bird. When the United States defense department felt that there is a serious danger on sending its messages and aids during wartime, it began thinking in something else for communication other than telegram and the traditional equipments, so it created the Internet. In fact, the Internet was very old and following very aged systems, but it improved by the days to reach us with its shape and structure. As the human interests developed and they became more aware with the world’s news and the globalization phenomena made the world as a small village, they began to ask for more access to information. Books became the old way of getting the information and it is now considered the most interesting thing for the old, it isn’t my opinion at all as I am one of books’ fans but that what my friends tell me about books. These young want the animated pictures and the updated videos from everywhere. They want the Interactive Internet. As a result, web 2.0 appeared as the new technology that make youth able to play video games, the adult are able to follow up which president will catch up with a pair of shoes in his head first and who will follow matrix movement!!! The businessmen can follow their money banking and the stock… Every one can use the Internet to follow up with his work, entertainment, and education. However, any request is being put on the line, we need something to interact with us synchronously and give us the solution virtually; we need Web 3.0
It is still in progress till we reach a virtual achievement in making you set on your computer having your head wearing and see yourself with your body doing your matrix in your own life, only with the people who will wear there electronic heads with you…
We want to do as Laurence Fishburne in his science fiction Matrix film did and the scientists are working to introduce us to the Virtual Reality: Web 3.0…

How can free application makers get money?

Nowadays, when we open any website we see “download for free, apply for free, and register for free”, how do we have all these free services and applications? Do all these people make money from these applications or just making it for fun? Do everyone can sign for a developer account and create an application, but what can benefit?
First, I think as many people think (Urbutun forums) that “Free” means free for users not free for developers, because application developers are paid to sell their applications and it will make social popularity for the site or company it buys like facebook (Build social application on facebook platform). So it means “free in liberty not free of price” (GNU). Illusion labs are one example of companies that are specialized in buying the application from the developer, which means that they gave the company the secret code responsible for the program, and change somehow in the features of the application and sell it again for the users (Illusion labs), and sell it again for large companies like Mac and Apple iPhone games (How to make money off free iPhone games). That’s one of the sources of money the developers can get from.
Another way the developers benefit from the applications is advertising. When we enter a website like “Facebook”, we see lots of advertising aside of the site and also the applications. Everyone now can log on the facebook, so log in with your account and take the quiz of “what is your eye color?” you will see beside the advertising is about new type of eye lenses or new store that make great discount on the price of medical glasses.So, we can find that free applications are free software that benefit both the developer, he got paid, and also the user, as he use it freely. Advertising also is the other reason that pushes the marketing companies to buy the applications from the developers.
Early, I experienced this mission and I understood that these application makers can work for a certain destination from which they ay him... I was sending my final website to my friends. they told me that our friends have a company and they want you to make them a website with its applications and they will pay you for that... So, I got the idea...

The Internet and Donations…

Internet is the secret key for spreading any word, story, or even request. In wartime, connections are cut in many countries and no one can know anything about this country and what is happening for their habitats and the enemy themselves... To be more realistic, journalists and reporters who take photos and report videos are the only source for a country like Palestine, Darfur, or Iraq...
That was before the appearance of the Internet and its applications that permit all the world follow the current events and the state theses countries have reached to...
One of the things that are mostly affected by the Internet and the wireless connections is the donations and the aid the Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or the voluntarily institutions provide for the countries in wartime and the ones under sever situations like drought, famines, and natural disasters.
However, there are many situations that could result in an adversely fruits. We all know how Darfur is affected with war and how their people got hurt and all countries money spent ignoring health, education, and many important services. With all these crises, we can find that the aids they receive are concentrating on the cloths and they are in a bad need for the primitive needs…
Sometimes, when we miss general information about certain population or special customs, our help can’t benefit their needs and consequently, donations won’t be considered useful. Aids that are brought for the Asians are all cloths and mostly jeans trousers. For the general knowledge, Asians don’t wear jeans as most of them have custom cloths. In addition, most of them are short and the exported trousers were the long ones. This misunderstanding can be translated into missing in information resulted from the less communication contacts, or may be more intelligence came from the helpful institutions that make them export the extra products they don’t need…
I think in all cases, the missing of connections and awareness networks make this huge gap…
